Individuals can do nothing to protect the environment, and only governments and big companies can make a difference. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Nowadays, in this modern era, environmental degradation and pollution have an adverse effect on nature. Some people believe that it is only the responsibility of multinational industries and governmental bodies to preserve and protect the natural environment, whereas other argues that there is no need to apply personal efforts by the general public. In my opinion, I entirely agree that higher authorities and big companies have a role in improving the status of nature.
Firstly, it is vitally important for the government to make every individual aware of the consequences of damaging the environment. Indeed, people are illiterate and unconscious of the adverse effect of pollution. Furthermore, strict rules and laws have not been implemented, which makes citizens irresponsible. To exemplify, China has a harsh and brutal law which consequently makes residents not throw waste on subways. Therefore, the government directly or indirectly furnish fears to an individual who is willing to break the rules and regulations.
On the other hand, large multinational companies have far more work to improve the environmental condition of the world. As it is witnessed, industries produce a lot of harmful gases and chemicals. Similarly, those drainage materials are directly supplied to water resources which in fact harms the soil, water and air. Hence, industries should be well managed and mostly focused on utilizing renewable materials. For instance, in Switzerland, most of the industries are miles away from residential areas. Moreover, they use air purification tanks in order to protect the environment.
To recapitulate, this essay argues that government and big industries play an enormous role in enhancing the condition of nature. In my opinion, the government should apply strict laws, and big industries should be managed effectively to add up to nature.
