Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmers (for example, working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children). To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Few people believe that with academic subjects, social services must be taught to every student at school. I completely disagree with the above notion as students can lack concentration, and it requires plenty of time which is not possible for students.
Firstly, the concentration of students will lack due to the addition of voluntary services at school. To be precise, learners will not concentrate on important subjects such as maths, science which require enormous hard work as well as practical work. As a result, their overall percentage will be reduced, which is quite significant in order to pursue future studies. For instance, voluntary services are not like by physics chemistry students because they distract them from their main subjects.
Secondly, in order to provide aid to needy people, huge time is required. Students at the secondary level have less time due to the overburden of studies. Therefore it will neither benefit needy people, not students who disturb their timetable to help others. For example, when any campaign is organised to redress the public issues, it takes long hours, sometimes days which is out of the reach of school-going children.
To conclude, despite voluntary services, the concentration of students is essential to excel in studies, so rather than making unpaid community service compulsory, it must be an option so that learners will devote their time as per their requirement.
