The Table Below Gives Information About the Underground Railway Systems in Six Cities (1)

The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table provides data on the underground train operations among cities.

Overall, it is seen that the oldest train system started in London (1863), whiles the latest railway operation started in Los Angeles (2001). Furthermore, the London train covers the longest distance for a route (394 km), whiles Kyoto is noted for covering the shortest distance for a route (11 km). However, Tokyo recorded the highest number of passengers using the train system per annum (1927 million), whiles Kyoto had the fewest number of passengers recorded in a year (45 million).

Firstly, among these six (6) cities, London was the first to introduce a railway system and the only station opened in the 1800s (1863) and also covers the longest route (394 km), but it is seen to carry the third-highest number of passengers per annum (775). In the 1900s, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC and Kyoto all started operating, and Los Angeles was the only city to start its operation in the 2000s.
