It Is Important for People to Take Risks, in Both Their Professional Lives and Personal Lives. Do the Advantages of Taking These Risks Outweigh the Disadvantages?
Life is an uncertain journey, and it is vital to take risks in order to achieve something in life, both in personal and professional life. Whilst there are a plethora of benefits and drawbacks of taking risks, the merits undoubtedly eclipse the demerits, and I will discuss these in the upcoming paragraphs.
πΆββοΈ In life, there are always two roads: one is easy, and the other is hard. When one wants to fulfil their dreams, the journey is always tricky, and one has to take many risks to achieve them. When choosing a career, sometimes there are many obstacles, such as a lack of money to support the career, lack of family support, or sometimes physical deformity. However, if one wants it bad enough, one must be ready to take risks because once one achieves whatever he/she desires, the happiness will be immeasurable. However, if by chance they cannot achieve the desired goal, he/she can at least have peace of mind that they tried their level best. To cite an example, our Miss World, Manushi Chillar, was an MBBS student, and it requires a lot of hard work to get admission in such a course, but she wanted to try her luck in the Miss World competition. It was a big decision, and she risked her medical career, but she took the step and won the competition.
π©ββ€οΈβπ¨ Albeit it is a bit easier to take risks in professional life, it is too hard to take risks in personal life because the consequences here could be more serious. In India, love marriages are still not welcomed by many communities, and people have to fight with their parents and society. To illustrate, many complaints are registered in police records where one’s own family tried to kill their daughter/son because they loved someone from another caste. Moreover, in India, women still have to fight to prevent abortion. In addition, even though it is illegal to check a baby’s gender, some doctors still do it, and many families abort girl children. In such cases, if women fight back, they must leave their husband’s house. However, despite such big consequences, people take risks because it is worth doing.
