You paid a refundable deposit when you rented an apartment a year ago. You left the apartment last month in good condition, but the landlord won’t return your deposit. Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter,
- introduce yourself and say why you are writing
- ask for the return of your deposit
- inform the landlord of possible action if he/she does not agree to refund the amount
Dear Sir,
This is Anjali Sharma, a former resident of M20 Capital Building, Bur Dubai. I took this apartment on rent for a year which I left last month after completing the contract. While taking this apartment on rent, I paid a refundable deposit of AED 3000 with a rule that I need to return the flat back in the same condition as I am getting now (damage-free and clean, properly painted).
Just to inform you, I haven’t received my deposit money yet despite fulfilling all the terms and conditions with regards to the money being refunded. Even the maintenance team also came and checked the flat thoroughly; they did not find any damage there. Therefore, I request you to look into this matter and initiate the refund at the earliest.
I fail to do so, and I will be left with no option except to take it legally.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you
