Shopping is the favourite free time activity for many young people today. Why do you think this has happened? Should young people be encouraged to do different activities in their free time rather than shopping? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.
In most developed nations, shopping is not only about buying the goods of need; it is also perceived as entertainment. This should be done mostly by youngsters due to numerous reasons, and young adults should be motivated to do different activities in their free time.
To begin with the merits of shopping, the first benefit is, it helps when people are at their higher stress levels. When individuals go to do shopping in malls or shopping centres, then they interact with other people, whether they are fellow buyers or sellers. Moreover, when they discuss purchasing something with other people, then they get distracted from their stress level, which is a tremendous way to lift up their mood.
Moving further, young adults should be inspired to do various kinds of activities in their leisure time. The first advantage of this, it helps to enhance the immune system. Nowadays, not only study but physical activities are also mandatory for the growth of the body. Leisure activities can help the public to prevent diseases. Thus, apart from academic knowledge, physical activities should be done by young people.
To encapsulate, if youngsters do shopping or leisure activities in their free time, then it is the best way to keep their body fit. However, it should be done only in limits because it consumes much amount of time.
