Some people say that Ebooks ( Kindle) and modern technology will totally replace traditional newspapers and magazines. to what extent do you agree or disagree.
In the nearest future, advancement in technology will result in low patronage or even absolute scrap out of magazines and newspapers.
On the one hand, the internet has changed our lifestyle entirely, to the extent that people will be in their comfort zone and get first-hand information on both local and international trending news. With the use of Android phones and laptops, life is easy in terms of information, and everyone can access the latest news at any point in time. For example, one can easily watch what is happening in Europe or any other part of the world live and direct; once you are connected to the internet, like the election that was conducted in America in 2019, everyone in other parts of the world can watch as it’s going. More so, one can subscribe to online news where national and international news will be updated every second. Furthermore, the importance of the internet can never be overemphasized for its functions.
On the other hand, magazines and newspapers have their own peculiarity and importance, which can serve as evidence for reference purposes; once the copy is available, it can be shown to anyone at any point in time. For instance, the former Nigeria president, General Mohammed Bihari, made a statement in 1984, when he was a president under the military regime, it was published in the daily time’s newspaper, 35 years later, the newspaper was brought out, and it was used against him during the campaign.
In conclusion, it is a mixed option, but I agree that newspapers and magazines will no longer find their way into society as technology has already made news easy for everyone.
