The bar chart illustrates the weekly voluntary work done by both married men and women with or without kids, expressed in hours. Overall, it could be seen that in females the number of hours increases along with that of their children while in males, the reverse is the case.

On the one hand, mothers of 3 or more kids devoted well over 50 hours voluntarily babysitting, housekeeping and gardening compared to those with one or two children who spent exactly 50hours, and this is also in contrast with 30 hours spent by childless women. The increase in hours by these women could be due to assistance rendered by their children.

On the other hand, the male counterparts, who did the same free will jobs, had the fatherless devoting 18 hours, those with one or two offsprings spent 17 hours whereas, men with three babies spent fewer hours than the rest (16 hours. ). The diminishing time could be attributed to an increase in family responsibilities.
