The government in many countries has recently introduced special taxes on foods and beverages with high levels of sugar. Some think these taxes are a good idea while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

In recent times, taxes on sugary food and soda drinks have implemented by many high authorities. Some individuals believe it is a great conception, whereas others are against it. In my opinion, having a tax on sugary items is a great choice as it helps to promote a healthier society, and people tend to give more priority to homemade foods.

People who are against this law have their own perspective that this law crate injustice between the masses. To exemplify it, poor people who want to buy sugary food and drinks will face a problem and think before purchasing it, while wealthy individuals can easily afford it. Additionally, Government always tries to promote physical activities and exercises, nevertheless, the majority of consumers use these items on the daily basis.

On the other hand, some people consider that if a tax on sugary items such as candy and soda has implemented, substantially it may change the tendency of the public from unhealthy junk food to homemade healthier food. Moreover, individual people who consumed fast foods and soft drinks which were made with sugar had faced various health problems. For instance, a headline of ‘The Times of London’ reveals that candies and soda drinks made by sugar have affected human blood flow, cause diseases like diabetes, increase weight as well as damaged teeth. That is why, by putting a tax on sugary drinks and food, civilians may consume these items less.
