Sample Answer of Describe a Short Journey That You Often Take but Do Not Like

Well, a short trip that I often engage in but dislike is my school trip to an orchard, which is located in the countryside of Ha Noi.

Speaking of this orchard grows different types of fruit-bearing and ornamental trees such as papaya and pear trees. Although there are a lot of shadows, it is still scorching there.

I visit there twice a year, as a compulsory extracurricular activity. One trip lasts 2 days, and it takes 3 hours to arrive there.

As I mentioned before, it is one of our mandatory school’s activities. We travel there to learn more about the process of farming and the cutting-edge technology of cultivation. It also broadens my horizons and offers me an opportunity to encounter people from all walks of life.

I am not keen on this trip for two main reasons. Firstly, it is an extremely arduous and boring trip. I mean, every time I go on the trip, I have to do the same activities, and I’m downright tired and sick of those. For example, when I go there, I have to catch fish with my classmate under burning hot weather, making me sweat a lot, which causes many troubles such as wet hair and dirty skin. Secondly, the service there is utterly terrible. The food is always oily and bland, and the floor is muddy. This spoils my appetite. Therefore, I rarely have a decent meal there.

That’s all I want to share about the short journey

Follow-ups Describe a Short Journey That You Often Take but Do Not Like

Question1. Do Vietnamese people like to travel abroad? (I change from India to Vietnamese)

Answer -Well, it depends on the preference of individuals in Vietnam. On the one hand, some would love to spend their holiday in a foreign country such as Korea or Singapore. Not only does it allow gaining more knowledge about other nation’s customs and traditions, but it also makes them more relaxed and rejuvenated after long hours at work. On the other hand, others will stay at home or travel domestically since they feel more comfortable within their homeland. For example, many inhabitants flock to many coastal cities in Vietnam, such as Da Nang, to enjoy the beach and the sun.

Question2. How much time do you think people should spend on a trip abroad?

Answer – Generally speaking, I would say that there are various opinions about this idea. For some people whose job is loose, they might spend 2 to 4 weeks abroad to explore all of the corners in their destinations. For example, they can taste many local delicacies in their current country and communicate with the natives to expand their understanding of other cuisines or religions. However, for those always engrossed in hectic schedules, the time they spend travelling internationally would be a maximum of 1 week. I suppose 7 days are enough for them to visit several famous tourist attractions and enjoy the national culture.

Question3. Who prefers travelling abroad, the young or the old?

Answer – I would say that the young enjoy travelling internationally more. This is due to the fact that they are still young and want to learn more. Additionally, travelling is one way for them to unwind after work or study. The old, however, prefer staying at home since their health does not allow them to travel too far from their houses.

Question4. Which is better for knowing more about a country, travelling or reading books about it?

Answer – I would say both are beneficial. By travelling, you can experience first hand their social conventions as well as their cuisine, which widens people’s view and outlook. For example, when you travel, you can see the wonders of making a traditional cake with your own eyes. Reading books will help act as a window into their society better than travelling since people will gain insight into this country in terms of religions or humans, which are impossible to experience directly due to the language barriers.
