This diagram illustrates that how an Ocean thermal energy conversion can produce drinking water for a large proportion of people. This is a process in which heat energy is converted into electricity to obtain drinking water.
The main part of the system is evacuated evaporation chamber where the warm surface seawater with 29°c is converted into water vapour by solar energy and this vapour pass through a turbine above creating electricity, and waste saltwater is eliminated through a pipe below end which is connected to another chamber called condensing chamber where the water vapour condensed in chamber us cooled down by the cold seawater circulated around this chamber creating pure drinking water in the below end of the chamber, and the waste saltwater is discharged into the sea.
