In this technological era, most people have computers in their homes with internet access. Although it has many benefits, its drawbacks cannot be neglected. I will discuss various pros and cons of the internet for children in the forthcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, to start with the advantages, as we are all aware of the COVID-19 pandemic and most of the schools are closed, so children are advised to continue their study by online classes. In this case, the internet is a good way for pupils to learn and have appropriate knowledge without suffering their studies. Someone wisely said that a child could learn easily from the graphics as compared to books. So the internet helps a lot for children to learn through graphic and animation videos. Toddlers can learn alphabets through animated stories and rhymes that help them to enhance their mind and intellectual growth.
On the other hand, there are many cons for minors of having internet at home. Firstly, the teenagers who are aware of the internet sometimes indulge in bad company because on the internet there are many criminals with whom children can interact. Pornography is the second biggest disadvantage of having internet at home. Many times there are various sites that are only for adults, and sometimes children surf those websites accidentally or by clicking on an advertisement and then they were trapped into those websites. Also, there are various illegal websites run on the dark and deep web which mislead our children and can harm them physically or socially.
In conclusion, Internet has changed an individual’s life significantly, but it is also spreading some problems in kids as well as adults life. The Internet can be a precious gift of humankind if we use it wisely.
